Emergency Plumbing.
If you have had an emergency plumbing issue the first thing you need to do is stop the water. If you had a pipe burst, go to your main water shutoff valve and twist the handle or wheel clockwise until it is shut off. If you don't know where your main water shutoff valve is, there should be one one at your property line, which is typically by the street.
After you've stopped the water from flowing call us 817-993-5819 and we'll get one of our plumbing technicians out as quickly as possible. Prevention. Many times busted pipes are caused by freezing in the winter. To lower the risk of this happening we suggest turning on your faucets to a slow drip, and leaving them dripping until the temperature is well above freezing. This will allow the water in your pipes to gently flow which reduces the risk of pipes freezing.
If you notice that a toilet will not fill up, or a faucet won't run water these are indicators that you may already have a frozen pipe. This should not be left unattended because you may be able to prevent a pipe from bursting by heating it up. Give us a call and we'll have one of our plumbers come and diagnose the problem and keep things from getting worse. |
